I remember listening to Weird Al’s Like A Surgeon on repeat during a long car trip. I really wanted to figure out all the words. It paid off, now I can sing the song at karaoke with confidence!
Thanks for sharing even though I kind of forced you to! (This is my partner, btw.) I remember Weird Al was the first artist that I really wanted to see live. I was too young to go to a concert at the time, but I loved hearing his songs on the radio. I guess there’s no stopping us now!
The first album I bought was Moody Blues On the Threshold of a Dream, 1969. I’d gotten a record player for my 12th birthday. Played that album every moment I wasn’t at school. I thought its pretentious, arty concept was just incredibly cool. Also their British accents.
